With Feed to Post you can store and display RSS feed items as WordPress Posts (or any other custom post type). Once the posts are imported they can published right away or set to Drafts first. Your theme or page builder then takes over their display, so your imported content flows beautifully with the rest of your site.

What's included?

Import into Posts (or any Custom Post Type)

Importing into posts allows you to import post titles, images, videos and other media, all of which are displayed according to your theme setup.

Import & Publish Automatically, or Set to Draft & Publish Manually

Import and publish posts automatically, import into Drafts and modify the posts before publishing, or import into any other post formats that you use.

Add a Link Back to the Source, or Add Custom Content to Each Post

Use our general setting or the append/prepend to content feature to add links back to the original source or any other content you want (including images and videos) to the start or end of the imported posts.

Set How Often to Import New Content

Not all sources need to be importing new content every 15 minutes, which is why we provide you with the option to set each feed source to import at specific intervals, improving the site’s performance.

Choose which Images to Use, Where and How

Choose whether to import images locally or use the ones from the original source, saving space on your site. You can also set the minimum dimensions for imported images, whether to set a featured image for each post and which image to use there, and you can set a fallback featured image to use for those posts that don’t have any images themselves.

Add Categories and Tags Automatically

Using the taxonomy (category and tag) options available, you can add categories and tags to posts automatically as soon as they are imported. You can apply this to all sources, a specific source, or even specific posts from a source (based on keywords or phrases in the title and/or content).

Credit the Original Author or Assign a New One

This option will allow you to credit the original author by importing their name along with the content. Or, if you wish, you can assign any existing user on your website as the author for the imported posts.

Import Youtube Videos Directly into Posts

Using a Youtube RSS feed, you can import videos from any Youtube channel or user, directly into your WordPress site, creating a video feed on any post or page.

Use-Cases

Below are a few use-cases for the complete Advanced Feed Bundle:

We’ve used this bundle of add-ons to build a few sites ourselves, including WP News Desk, Crypto HeadlinesTravel Blogger Community and Dribbble.wprssaggregator.com.

What cannot be done with Feed to Post?

  • Control the display of the imported posts on your site. This is completely dependant on your theme and any other template builders you may be using.
  • Import the full content from RSS feed sources that do not provide the full content. This would require our Full Text RSS Feeds add-on in addition to Feed to Post.
  • Import images from feed sources that don’t provide any within their RSS feed, unless you use Full Text RSS Feeds in addition to Feed to Post.
  • Filter the posts being imported on the basis of keywords or tags. For this, you will need to use the Keyword Filtering add-on in addition to Feed to Post.

FAQs

Q: How can I have the post titles on my site link directly to the original source, without opening up the post on my site?

A: We provide this filter and instructions on how to apply it for you to be able to achieve this. To see it in action, have a look at how the WP News Desk website works with this filter.

Q: Do you have a tutorial on how to use Feed to Post to build a fully-functional WordPress site with imported content?

A: Yes, take a look at this tutorial on WP Mayor about how we built the WP News Desk website – all of the WP News Desk site’s content is purely imported content through WP RSS Aggregator. The tutorial uses the entire Advanced Feeds Bundle, but limiting it to the Feed to Post features will give you similar results.

Q: Can Feed to Post be used alongside the Categories and/or Excerpts & Thumbnails add-ons?

A: If you are planning on using Feed to Post, the following add-ons can only be made use of when enabling the Legacy Feed Items option (hence, re-enabling the use of the shortcode):

  • Excerpts & Thumbnails (does not import as posts, it uses the shortcode feed item display)
  • Categories (does not use the native WordPress post categories, it only categorises feed sources)

This means that once you have installed Feed to Post, the shortcode system used by the core plugin will only work if you use this setting, which disables the Feed to Post functionality for the selected sources. Also, the Categories add-on is not required when using Feed to Post since Feed to Post already includes the taxonomy functionality.

Q: I need a license for more than 20 sites, can you help me out?

A: We sure can! Although we only show “up to twenty sites” on our website, we have larger license packages available upon request and at much bigger discounts. The currently available packages are of 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 2000 site licenses. Contact us today for more information.
