Facebook no longer gives you an RSS feed for a Page. For a public Page, you need a service such as FetchRSS or RSS.app to turn the public posts into a feed URL. If you manage the Page yourself, Zapier can build a feed from authenticated Page updates. Meta also publishes direct RSS feeds for its own newsroom and engineering blogs.
Once you have the URL, it behaves like any other RSS feed. You can follow it in a reader, send new items into an automation, or add it to WordPress and publish a filtered list for your visitors.
What is a Facebook RSS feed?
A Facebook RSS feed is a regularly updated list of Page posts in a format that other apps can read. A feed item normally includes the post text or title, its date, and a link back to Facebook.
Facebook used to provide that file itself. It retired the old Page feed in 2015, so there is no current Facebook URL pattern you can assemble by adding a Page ID. Tools that work with arbitrary public Pages now read the public Page and create the RSS file for you. That extra step is why these feeds can lag or stop working when Facebook changes its public pages.
Which Facebook RSS option should you use?
Start with the kind of Page you need to follow. The tools are not interchangeable, and one popular option does not produce a portable feed URL at all.

How do you create an RSS feed from a public Facebook Page?
For a public Page you do not run, FetchRSS and RSS.app offer the shortest route. A feed generator is simply a service that reads a public web page and publishes the updates as RSS.
- Open the Facebook Page in a private browser window. If you cannot see its posts without signing in, a public-page generator is unlikely to work.
- Copy the Page URL and paste it into the Facebook generator at FetchRSS or RSS.app.
- Preview the items. Check that the newest Page post appears and that item links return to the right Page.
- Copy the RSS URL the service gives you. Save this URL, not the Facebook Page URL.
Try the other generator if the preview is empty. They do not necessarily read Facebook in the same way, so one can work while another is waiting on a fix. For an important feed, check it occasionally rather than assuming it will run forever.
How do you turn your own Facebook Page into an RSS feed?
If you manage the Page, Zapier gives you a cleaner connection. Its Facebook Pages trigger watches for a new post on your Page, and its RSS action adds that post to a feed hosted by Zapier.
- Open Zapier’s Facebook Pages to RSS template.
- Connect the Facebook account that has access to the Page.
- Select New Post to Your Timeline as the trigger and choose the Page.
- Use Create Item in Feed as the action. Map the Facebook post text, URL, and publication date into the feed item.
- Test the Zap, turn it on, and copy the RSS by Zapier feed URL.
This route is for Pages you control. It will not pull posts from a competitor or publisher Page that you cannot select in the connected Facebook account.
Does Meta publish any official RSS feeds?
Yes, but they are feeds for Meta’s own publications rather than Facebook Pages. These two are live as of July 2026:

If your real goal is to track Meta product news, policy announcements, or engineering work, use these direct feeds. There is no scraper in the middle, and you do not need an account.
How do you add a Facebook RSS feed to WordPress?
The walkthrough below uses Meta Newsroom’s live feed so every step can be tested against a first-party source. The same setup works with a valid FetchRSS, RSS.app, or Zapier URL.
1. Add the feed as a source
In WordPress, open Aggregator → Sources and choose Add a new source. Paste the feed URL, then check the preview before you start the import. The newest item in the preview should match the newest post at the source.
2. Filter out posts your readers do not need
A busy Page can cover far more than your site’s topic. Open the source’s Automations tab and add a rule before the import. In this example, an item can pass when its title contains AI, Instagram, or WhatsApp.
Keyword filtering is useful when you follow several broad sources but only publish one beat. Keep the rule simple at first, then check the source log for titles you expected to see.
3. Build the display
Go to Aggregator → Displays, create a display, and select the source. A List layout works well for news because the headlines stay easy to scan. Grid and Excerpt & Thumbnail layouts are available when images need more space.
Embed the finished display on a page or post. Aggregator keeps checking the source, so new feed items can appear without you rebuilding the page.
Do you need full WordPress posts instead?
A display is the lighter option when you want a live list that links back to Facebook or the original publisher. Feed to Post is for workflows where each feed item needs to become its own WordPress post. Choose that route deliberately, and make sure you have the right to republish the content.
Why is my Facebook RSS feed not working?
Most failures happen before WordPress ever sees the feed. Work through these checks in order:
- Open the RSS URL itself. It should return XML or a feed preview, not a login page or dashboard.
- Check the Facebook Page in a private window. A private Page, profile, or login-only post cannot be read by a public-page generator.
- Look for a new item at the generator. If its preview is stale too, the problem is with the service or Facebook connection.
- Regenerate the feed or try the other public-page tool. Facebook markup changes can affect generators differently.
- Check the source log in Aggregator. An HTTP error or invalid XML message tells you whether WordPress could reach and parse the URL.

Can I get an RSS feed for a Facebook profile?
Not reliably. Public-page generators are built for Facebook Pages, not personal profiles. Privacy controls and login requirements make profiles a poor RSS source.
Can I create an RSS feed for a Facebook group?
FetchRSS says it supports some public groups. Private groups and groups that hide posts behind a login will not work through a public feed generator. Test the exact group before paying for a plan.
Do I need a Facebook account?
Not for a public Page feed created with FetchRSS or RSS.app, and not for Meta's official blog feeds. Zapier does require a connected Facebook account with access to the Page.
Is a Facebook RSS feed real-time?
Usually not. Public-page generators and automation services check on a schedule, so a new post may take several minutes or longer to appear. The exact timing depends on the service and plan.
A Facebook RSS feed is still useful, but it is no longer a URL Facebook hands you. Choose the route that matches the Page: a generator for public Pages, Zapier for a Page you manage, or Meta's direct feeds for company news. Then test the URL before making it part of a larger publishing workflow.
