The Custom Text settings under Source → Advanced → Content → Custom Text allow you to add text, dynamic variables, and registered WordPress shortcodes before or after the content of every post imported from a source.

Add Custom Text Before the Content
This setting allows you to add custom text before the main content of the imported post. You can include any text you wish and even use dynamic variables, such as:
- Source name: Displays the name of the source from which the content was imported.
- Source URL: Display the URL of the source.
- Post title: Display the title of the imported post.
- Post URL: Displays the URL of the imported post on your site.
- Original Post URL: Display the URL of the original post.
- Post date: Display the original publication date of the post.
- Import date: Display the date when the content was imported.
- Author name: Display the name of the author of the post.
- Author URL: Display the URL of the author’s page or profile.
- Featured Image URL: Display the URL of the featured image of the post.
- Post meta: Display any custom post metadata.
Add Custom Text After the Content
Similarly, you can add custom text after the main content of the imported post ends. Once again, the same dynamic variables are available to you:
- Source name: Displays the name of the source from which the content was imported.
- Source URL: Displays the URL of the source.
- Post title: Displays the title of the imported post.
- Post URL: Displays the URL of the imported post on your site.
- Original Post URL: Displays the URL of the original post.
- Post date: Displays the original publication date of the post.
- Import date: Displays the date when the content was imported.
- Author name: Displays the name of the author of the post.
- Author URL: Displays the URL of the author’s page or profile.
- Featured Image URL: Displays the URL of the featured image of the post.
- Post meta: Displays any custom post metadata.
Using Shortcodes in Custom Text
You can include registered WordPress shortcodes in the custom text added before or after imported post content.
For example:
[my_shortcode]
Aggregator processes the shortcode when the imported post is viewed on the front-end and displays its generated output in the selected position.
Note: The plugin, theme, or custom code that registers the shortcode must remain active. Otherwise, WordPress may display the shortcode as plain text or omit its output.
Add Only When Viewing a Single Post
Enable this option to display the custom text only when viewing a single post, not on archive or list pages such as WordPress’ default Blog page.
These settings provide flexibility in adding additional information or disclaimers before and after the main content of each imported post, ensuring that your site provides contextually relevant information to your readers.
You can even use it in more creative ways, such as embedding ads or links to related pages. The options are endless.
Note: The custom text is added to each post dynamically when the post is visited on the front-end, meaning you will not see this custom content in the post editor. This also means that you can change this custom text at any time and the changes will immediately be visible on your site across all posts, even those imported previously.
