Aggregator v5 is here

A cleaner, more organized way to manage your feeds.

Since 2013, Aggregator has helped over 50,000 websites bring content together through RSS. Today, we’re launching version 5 — rebuilt from the ground up with a new interface, streamlined workflows, and powerful features that make content aggregation simpler and smarter.

Here’s what’s new.

A new interface built for focus

We’ve redesigned every part of Aggregator to be cleaner and more intuitive. The new layout moves away from the outdated WordPress dashboard styling, replacing it with a modern interface that feels faster and easier to use. Navigation is smoother, workflows are more efficient, and every interaction is built around helping you get to what you need with less friction.

The Aggregator Hub

At the center of the update is the Aggregator Hub — your new control panel for everything. It’s where you can add and manage sources, organize feeds into folders, create displays, and monitor everything in one place. Whether you’re setting up something new or curating content, the Hub is designed to give you visibility and control over your entire setup without bouncing between posts and pages.

Smarter source creation

We’ve streamlined the process of creating and editing sources. Settings are now grouped into three clear tabs: Details, Automations, and Advanced.

The Details tab lets you set how often your sources update, choose how content is imported (as posts, pages, or feed items), curate posts manually, or limit how much content comes in.

The Automations tab gives you filtering rules to fine-tune what gets imported, using keywords, tags, or categories. You can create simple or complex rules depending on your needs.

The Advanced tab covers field mapping, author attribution, full-text imports, audio content support, and more — all in one place. Depending on your plan, some options may be locked, but everything is visible up front.

Better folder organization

We’ve renamed Categories to Folders and made them more powerful. Folders help you organize your sources by topic, content type, or any structure that fits your site. They’re useful inside the Hub for browsing and managing grouped feeds, and they make it easier to build multi-source Displays. If you’re managing a lot of feeds, this structure will save you time and make your dashboard far easier to work with.

Displays: redesigned and previewable

We’ve renamed Templates to Displays and upgraded the entire experience. Your familiar layout options — grid, list, excerpt and thumbnail — are still available, with more on the way. You can now preview exactly how your content will appear before publishing, making adjustments with confidence. Built-in filtering lets you decide what content gets shown based on keywords or other criteria, giving you full control over how your feeds are displayed, without the guesswork.

A better Help Center

To go along with all the updates, we’ve overhauled our Help Center with new guides, updated screenshots, and videos that reflect what you’ll see in v5. Whether you’re migrating from v4 or digging into advanced settings, the new Help Center is where to start.

Ready to upgrade?

If you’re still on v4, now’s the time to move over. Our migration guide walks you through the process step-by-step to ensure a smooth transition. This isn’t just a new coat of paint — it’s a complete rebuild, and it’s ready for production use.

And if you’re using the free version, this is the perfect moment to explore what’s possible with a premium plan. Unlock advanced features like full-text imports, automation rules, and display filters to get the most out of Aggregator.

A note from the team

This release has been in the works for a long time, and it wouldn’t have been possible without your feedback. We’ve taken everything we’ve learned over the years and rebuilt Aggregator to be simpler, more powerful, and better aligned with the way people actually use it. On behalf of Mark, Gaby, Omid, Hendra, Martin, Alexander, and everyone else behind the scenes — thank you. We’re excited to hear what you think, and even more excited about what’s coming next.
