The Categories add-on allows you to assign categories to your feed sources. You can then display a particular category or multiple categories of feed items via the shortcode.
What this add-on allows you to do is to assign your feed sources to categories. That way you can then display feed items imported by feed sources of a particular category on a given post or page (via a shortcode parameter).
Thus, you can have one page displaying feed items from the ‘Entertainment’ category (or any other category you create) and another displaying feed items from the ‘Sports’ category.
IMPORTANT: The categories created by the Categories add-on are not the same as the WordPress post categories. They are only to be used by and for the FEED SOURCES you create in WP RSS Aggregator.
Take Categories on a test drive to see its true power. If you need any help in getting things up and running or implementing a certain feature just hit us up via a pre-sales support ticket.
This means that once you have installed Feed to Post, the shortcode system used by the core plugin and the Excerpts and Thumbnails add-on will only work if you use this setting, which disables the Feed to Post functionality for the selected sources. When using Feed to Post you will have complete freedom to display the imported content in any way you wish using your theme, or using a template builder such as Views.
If you’re still unsure whether this is the add-on you require, please read our dedicated post on choosing the right add-ons for your use case.
