The Categories add-on gives you the ability to categorize feed sources, allowing you to display groups of sources together via the shortcode provided by WP RSS Aggregator. Set up categories for different news topics, sports teams, cryptocurrencies, or whatever your niche may be. It’s just like using WordPress post categories, except for WP RSS Aggregator’s feed sources.

Technical Details
Requirements
- WP RSS Aggregator Core Plugin
- WordPress 4.8 or newer
- PHP 5.4 or newer
- The core plugin requires WP Cron to work in order to function correctly. If this is not possible for any reason, WP RSS Aggregator cannot ensure that the feed source imports are run.
- WP RSS Aggregator also uses SimplePie, and hence its requirements must also be fulfilled. WordPress currently comes bundled with SimplePie version 1.3.1. To review its minimum system requirements please click here.
- All our plugins work only on self-hosted versions of WordPress (WordPress.org) and are not compatible with the hosted version of WordPress (WordPress.com).
Other details:
- The Categories add-on does not utilize the native WordPress post categories. It uses a custom taxonomy set up for the Feed Sources custom post type that is used solely by WP RSS Aggregator.
- Yearly price options are billed automatically. License keys for yearly renewals provide you with updates and support for one (1) year. If you have a valid subscription, the license keys are renewed automatically every year. If not, the license key must be renewed manually to keep benefitting from any updates and support.
- Lifetime licenses do not require any renewal payments after the initial purchase. License keys for lifetime licenses provide you with updates and support for the lifetime of the plugin.
- “Single Site”, “Up to Five Sites” and “Up to Twenty Sites” refer to the number of WordPress sites you can activate each license key on. They do not refer to the number of feed sources you can import from. In fact, the number of feed sources per site is unlimited.
- All add-ons and bundles are covered by our 30 Day 100% Money Back Guarantee. View full terms & conditions.

FAQ
Visit our Knowledge Base.
Q: Can I use the native WordPress categories to categorize feed sources or imported feed items?
A: No, native WordPress categories are different to the categories used by the Categories add-on in WP RSS Aggregator. They do not work the same and do not work together. It is also not possible to assign a category to a specific feed item. Categories in this bundle are applied to all imported feed items for a single source.
Q: Does this add-on work to categorize posts imported with the Feed to Post add-on?
A: If you are planning on using this add-on, it can only be made use of alongside Feed to Post when enabling the Legacy Feed Items option (hence, re-enabling the use of the shortcode):
This means that once you have installed Feed to Post, the shortcode system used by the core plugin will only work if you use this setting, which disables the Feed to Post functionality for the selected sources. Also, the Categories add-on is not required when using Feed to Post since Feed to Post already includes the taxonomy functionality.
Q: I need a license for more than 20 sites, can you help me out?
A: We sure can! Although we only show “up to twenty sites” on our website, we have larger license packages available upon request and at much bigger discounts. The currently available packages are of 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 2000 site licenses. Contact us today for more information.
