This add-on gives you the ability to display thumbnail images and excerpts along with the feed item titles that you get with the free core plugin. It’s perfect for injecting some life and colour into your feed item display.
Displaying the feed items with the excerpts and thumbnails is still done through the use of the WP RSS Aggregator shortcodes. There are a number of excerpt settings and thumbnail settings available, along with the shortcode parameters.
Excerpt Settings - Learn More
- Set an excerpt word limit.
- Choose the characters to appear at the end of each excerpt.
- Enable a "Read more" link at the end of each excerpt.
- Set the "Read more" text to use.
- Enable social sharing buttons.
Thumbnail Settings - Learn More
- Set the thumbnail image height and width.
- Set a default thumbnail to be used when no image is found.
- Link the thumbnail image to the feed item permalink.
- Choose what to do when the feed item has no image.
- Choose the image to use as the thumbnail image.
- View a preview of the default thumbnail image.
You can do some further styling on the feed item display with some simple CSS changes. Click here for a few examples.
- Excerpts & Thumbnails (does not work with posts, only with the shortcode feed item listings)
- Categories (does not use the native post categories, it only categorises feed sources)
This means that once you have installed Feed to Post, the shortcode system used by the core plugin will only work if you use this setting, which disables the Feed to Post functionality for the chosen sources. Also, the Categories add-on is not required when using Feed to Post since Feed to Post already includes the taxonomy functionality.
The following are required for this bundle to function:
- WP RSS Aggregator Core Plugin
- WordPress 4.0 or higher
- PHP 5.3.9 or higher
- All our plugins work only on self-hosted versions of WordPress (WordPress.org) and are not compatible with the hosted version of WordPress (WordPress.com).
- License keys provide you with updates and support for a one (1) year period. After that, the license key must be renewed in order for you to keep benefitting from any updates or support.
- “Single Site”, “Up to Five Sites” and “Up to Twenty Sites” refer to the number of WordPress sites you can activate each license key on. They do not refer to the number of feed sources you can import from. In fact, the number of feed sources per site is unlimited.
- Terms and Conditions (including our refund policy) can be found here.
