This add-on is part of the Advanced Feeds Bundle. Make your investment worthwhile by purchasing the full bundle, giving you more features while saving at least 21%!

Feed to Post is our most powerful add-on to date.

Import feed items to store and display them as WordPress Posts, or any other custom post type you may be using. Once the posts are imported, your theme or page builder takes over their display. This way you’re sure that any imported content looks natural and flows beautifully with the rest of your site.

Our Feed to Post add-on is the perfect tool for when you want your site to be automatically populated with content from other sources. It’s also great for when you want to supplement your own content with that from other top sources around the world.

What do I get?

Import into Posts or any Custom Post Type

Importing into posts allows you to import the content with the post titles, including images, videos and other media. You can then use your own theme’s styling to display them just the way you want.

Choose how to import the posts

Import and publish posts automatically, import into Drafts and then publish in your own time, import into drafts to make additions or changes to the content before publishing, import into different post formats such as standard and video; if that setting is available on your site, it’s available in WP RSS Aggregator.

Set the publish date you want

We give you the option to use the original publish date from the original source, keeping the content in sync, or set the date to be the time of import into your site.

Link back to the original source

Use the general link back to source option to apply site-wise, or use the append/prepend to content feature to add any content you want (including images and videos) to the start or end of every imported post from a specific source.

Set an update interval

Not all sources need to be looking for new content every 15 minutes, which is why we provide you with the option to set each feed source to import at specific intervals. This ensures that your website’s performance remains at a good level.

Choose which images to use and how

The Feed to Post add-on allows you to choose whether to import images locally or use the ones from the original source, saving space on your site. You can also set the minimum dimensions for imported images, whether to set a featured image for each post and which image to use for it, as well as set a fallback featured image to use for those posts that don’t have any images themselves.

Assign categories and tags automatically

Using the taxonomy (category and tag) options available, you can assign categories and tags to posts automatically as they are imported. You can apply this to all source, a specific source, or even specific posts from a source (based on keywords or phrases in the title and/or content).

Assign any author you want

Why not credit the original author for their work? This option will allow you to do that by importing the author’s name along with the content. Or, if you wish, you can assign any existing user on your site as the author for the imported posts.

Import Youtube videos directly into Posts

Using a Youtube RSS feed you can import videos from any channel or user directly into WordPress posts, creating a video feed anywhere across your WordPress site.

Import from social media channels

Certain social media sites provide RSS feeds containing most of the content that you may want to import into your site. Subsidise existing content with social media feeds to keep your visitors intrigued.

Other features...

  • Limit or Trim the words in the content or excerpt to a certain number.
  • Remove unwanted material (content, images, etc) from the imported posts’ content before it gets to your site.
  • Retrieve data from any RSS tag in feed items, then store it in a custom meta field in the imported posts.
  • WPML compatible.
  • Multisite compatible.

What can I build?

Below are a few use-cases for the complete Advanced Feed Bundle:

We’ve used this bundle of add-ons to build a few sites ourselves, including WP News Desk, Crypto HeadlinesTravel Blogger Community and Dribbble.wprssaggregator.com.

What can’t be done with Feed to Post?

  • Control the display of the imported posts on your site. This is completely dependant on your theme and any other template builders you may be using.
  • Import the full content from RSS feed sources that do not provide the full content. This would require our Full Text RSS Feeds add-on along with Feed to Post.
  • Import images from feed sources that don’t provide any within their RSS feed, unless you use Full Text RSS Feeds.
  • Filter the posts being imported on the basis of keywords or tags. For this, you will need to use the Keyword Filtering add-on in addition to Feed to Post.

Docs & FAQs

Q: How can I have the post titles on my site link directly to the original source, without opening up the post on my site?

A: We provide this filter and instructions on how to apply it for you to be able to achieve this. To see it in action, have a look at how the WP News Desk website works with this filter.

Q: Do you have a tutorial on how to use Feed to Post to build a fully-functional WordPress site with imported content?

A: Yes, take a look at this tutorial on WP Mayor about how we built the WP News Desk website – all of the WP News Desk site’s content is purely imported content through WP RSS Aggregator. The tutorial uses the entire Advanced Feeds Bundle, but limiting it to the Feed to Post features will give you similar results.

Q: Can Feed to Post be used alongside the Categories and/or Excerpts & Thumbnails add-ons?

A: If you are planning on using Feed to Post, the following add-ons can only be made use of when enabling the Legacy Feed Items option (hence, re-enabling the use of the shortcode):

  • Excerpts & Thumbnails (does not import as posts, it uses the shortcode feed item display)
  • Categories (does not use the native WordPress post categories, it only categorises feed sources)

This means that once you have installed Feed to Post, the shortcode system used by the core plugin will only work if you use this setting, which disables the Feed to Post functionality for the selected sources. Also, the Categories add-on is not required when using Feed to Post since Feed to Post already includes the taxonomy functionality.

Q: I need a license for more than 20 sites, can you help me out?

A: We sure can! Although we only show “up to twenty sites” on our website, we have larger license packages available upon request and at much bigger discounts. The currently available packages are of 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000 and 2000 site licenses. Contact us today for more information.

Demo

We have set up a free demo site for anyone to use. Upon clicking on the button below, you will be able to create an entirely new WP site with Feed to Post pre-installed (alongside two other add-ons from the Advanced Feeds Bundle). From there you can test our plugins on a number of different themes.

If you have any questions while using the demo site, please contact our support team, we will be more than happy to help!
