An Introduction to Keyword Filtering

Contents

The Keyword Filtering add-on allows you to filter by keyword, phrase, or category.

What the filters do is affect what feed items get imported. So if a particular post doesn’t match one of your filters, it won’t be imported by that feed source.

Have a look at the available options below:

These options can be used for a number of scenarios:

  • To filter out a specific category of posts from a source, for example, any content from the category of Entertainment.
  • To filter out content that includes a certain phrase, which could be something specific to your niche or even someone's name, such as "Donald Trump".
  • To filter out content that contains profanity. You can enter the profane words as keywords and phrases to make sure no rude content is imported into your site.

NOTE: The keyword filtering is done with exact matches for words and phrases supplied in the settings. Keyword Filtering currently does not carry out fuzzy matches. For example, if you look for the word 'weather', the add-on will check for the presence or absence of the word 'weather'. It will not match 'atmospheric conditions' or 'wind speed'.
