How to Automatically Share Aggregated Posts to Facebook using Buffer

Contents

Using the Feed to Post add-on, you can aggregate posts from multiple sources, filter and categorize them and let your audience consume the content your curate. As part of this exercise, you will likely wish to automatically share the aggregated posts to Facebook. This article will guide you how.

Categorizing Your Imported Posts

When you have several feed sources, it is a good idea to assign WordPress categories to the imported posts and have them better organized on your site.

The Feed to Post – Taxonomies feature should help you achieve this categorization. You will first need to create WordPress categories from Posts > Categories, and then set them using the interface provided on the Add New Feed Source/Edit Feed Source page.

In the example screenshot above, all imported posts are assigned the WordPress category ‘News’. You can use the Feed to Post – Taxonomies with a custom post type and custom taxonomies too on the same lines as the default Posts and Categories.

Automatically Posting to Facebook

To automatically publish posts to Facebook, you will then need to sign up on Buffer, a popular social media management tool. Buffer allows you to auto-schedule posting to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and LinkedIn, as well as analyze data related to engagement with your audience.

Apart from signing up on Buffer, you will need to install the Post to Social Media – WordPress to Buffer plugin on your site. This plugin works as a bridge to connect your site to Buffer. You can purchase one of their premium plans to get additional features and priority support.

Head over to the plugin’s documentation here to know all about its usage.

With the Post to Social Media – WordPress to Buffer plugin and your Buffer account set up, you should be able to select posts by taxonomies and schedule them for publishing.
