Aggregator offers the option of curating imported items, allowing you to review, edit, and approve items before they are published publicly on your site. This feature is especially useful if you want to maintain control over imported content, ensuring it meets your standards before going live.
Follow the steps below to enable and use curation mode effectively.
Enable Curation Mode for a Source
To enable curation mode for any specific source:
- In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to
WP RSS Aggregator>Sources. - Select an existing source to edit, or click
Add Newto create a new one. - In the source settings, locate the option labeled
Curate postsunder the source URL and enable it. - Once enabled, click
Publish(for a new source) orUpdate(for an existing source) to apply the setting.

With Curate Posts enabled, all items from this source will be brought into a Pending Review state within your Hub. From here, you can decide which items to publish and which to reject.
Reviewing and Approving Items
Once a source is set to curate items, they will be held in your Hub until you approve them. To do so:
Navigate to WP RSS Aggregator > Hub in your dashboard. Here, you’ll see a list of items awaiting your review in the Pending Approval section.

Before making a decision, you can preview an item by clicking on the Eye icon. This will open a preview sidebar where you can check out the content and approve or reject the item.

To approve an item from the list, select it and click on the Approve checkmark icon. Approved items will follow your source settings for publishing.
To reject an item from the list, select it and click on the Reject trash icon. Rejected items will not be imported and will be removed from the pending list. They will also never be imported again once they are rejected. You can view all rejected items by clicking on Rejected Items at the top-right of your Hub page.

Customizing Imported Items
Items approved through curation mode will be imported and published according to your settings for the source. You can adjust settings such as:
- Post Type: Select whether to import as Feed Items, standard Posts or a custom post type.
- Post Status: Select what post status imported items will be assigned, such as Draft or Published.
- Category: Assign categories or tags to help organize content on your site.
These settings can be configured in the Source Settings and apply to all approved items from that source.
Benefits of Curation
Curation provides several advantages over automatic aggregation, for example:
- Content Quality Control: Only approve high-quality items that meet your criteria.
- Editing Flexibility: Customize titles, summaries, or images to align with your brand before publishing.
- Improved Relevance: Approve items based on the latest trends or topics relevant to your audience.
By following these steps, you can use curation mode in Aggregator to review, edit, and control the quality of content before it is published on your site, ensuring only the best content reaches your audience.
