AI Credits are used when Aggregator runs AI features for imported items. The number of credits available depends on your plan and license type, and how many credits each feature consumes depends on which features you enable.
AI Credits by Plan
AI Credits are included with the plans shown below.
| Plan | 1-Site | 5-Sites | Unlimited Sites |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro | 500 credits | 750 credits | 1,500 credits |
| Elite | 10,000 credits | 15,000 credits | 30,000 credits |
These credits are attached to your license and shared across the sites using that license, depending on how credits are allocated. For more details, see Managing AI Credits Across Sites.
How Much Each Feature Costs
Different AI features consume credits at different rates. This is the key to understanding your balance.
| Feature | Availability | Credit cost |
|---|---|---|
| AI Summaries | Pro and Elite | 1 credit per item |
| AI TL;DRs | Pro and Elite | 1 credit per item |
| AI Rewriting (title) | Elite only | 1 credit per item |
| AI Rewriting (excerpt) | Elite only | 1 credit per item |
| AI Rewriting (content) | Elite only | 3–12 credits per item |
Enabling more than one feature on the same source adds their costs together. For example, running both an AI Summary and a TL;DR on the same imported post uses 2 credits, 1 for each.
Content Rewriting Credit Bands
Content rewriting is charged by the word count of each imported item. Each item is charged separately according to the band it falls into.
| Band | Word count | Credits per item |
|---|---|---|
| Band 1 | ≤ 400 words | 3 credits |
| Band 2 | 401 – 1,000 words | 5 credits |
| Band 3 | 1,001 – 2,500 words | 8 credits |
| Band 4 | 2,501+ words | 12 credits |
To estimate usage for your own feeds, use the AI Rewriting Credit Calculator.
What Your AI Credits Can Produce
How far your credits go depends on the features being used. The tables below show approximate annual output for each plan in various scenarios.
AI Summaries and TL;DRs (Pro and Elite)
Both AI Summaries and AI TL;DRs consume 1 credit per job. The below figures assume only one of these features running at 1 credit per imported post.
| Plan | Credits | Jobs per year | Jobs per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pro 1-Site | 500 | 500 | ~41 |
| Pro 5-Sites | 750 | 750 | ~62 |
| Pro Unlimited Sites | 1,500 | 1,500 | ~125 |
| Elite 1-Site | 10,000 | 10,000 | ~833 |
| Elite 5-Sites | 15,000 | 15,000 | ~1,250 |
| Elite Unlimited Sites | 30,000 | 30,000 | ~2,500 |
Running both Summaries and TL;DRs at the same time on the same source uses 2 credits per post instead of just the 1, so these figures will be halved.
Credits are also used when AI content is regenerated for items that were already imported. Clicking Update in the source editor or Fetch on the Sources list requests fresh AI content for existing items (for sources using the Keep items up-to-date strategy). Each regenerated summary, TL;DR, or rewrite is charged again at its normal rate, just like on first import.
AI Content Rewriting (Elite only)
Content rewriting cost depends on the length of the original articles, so the output below is shown as a range across the credit bands. The Band figures below refer to the number of rewrites per year.
| Plan | Credits | Band 1 | Band 2 | Band 3 | Band 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Elite 1-Site | 10,000 | 3,333 | 2,000 | 1,250 | 833 |
| Elite 5-Sites | 15,000 | 5,000 | 3,000 | 1,875 | 1,250 |
| Elite Unlimited Sites | 30,000 | 10,000 | 6,000 | 3,750 | 2,500 |
Example: On an Elite 1-Site plan, 10,000 credits cover roughly 1,250 to 2,000 full content rewrites a year for typical articles of 500 to 1,000 words, which works out to about 100 to 166 per month. Shorter posts stretch credits further, while in-depth articles over 2,500 words use more credits per item.
Note: If you have Full Text enabled, your rewriting cost will be higher than the feed length suggests. Full Text pulls the complete article from the original source at import, so the rewrite is charged against the full article body, not the shorter feed excerpt, pushing many items into higher bands.
How Your AI Credit Balance Works
Your AI Credit balance is the number of credits available on your license.
Credits are deducted when Aggregator successfully completes an AI-powered operation. This can happen when an AI feature runs during import or when you generate a preview, depending on the feature.
If more than one AI feature is enabled for the same source, each feature runs independently and uses credits separately.
You can keep track of your AI Credits in the following places:
1. Your Aggregator Account

2. The Hub
Log in to your WordPress dashboard, then navigate to Aggregator → Hub.

3. Manage Plan
Log in to your WordPress dashboard, then navigate to Aggregator → Manage Plan.

Plan Credits and Credit Packs
Aggregator uses two types of credits:
- Plan credits, which are included with supported plans at no extra cost.
- Credit Pack credits, which are purchased separately when you need more credits.
How Do Plan Credits Work?
Plan credits are the AI Credits included with your plan’s annual balance.
These credits are attached to your license, not your user account. If multiple sites use the same license, they share the same credit pool depending on your license type and credit allocation settings.
Plan credits are renewed annually. When your license renews, your plan credit balance is refreshed based on your current plan and license type. Unused plan credits from the previous period do not roll over into the next period,.
Example: If your plan includes 500 AI Credits per year and you use 300 credits during year 1, you will have 200 plan credits remaining before renewal. When your license renews for year 2, the remaining 200 plan credits do not roll over. Instead, your plan credit balance resets to the full 500 credits included with your plan for the new period.
How Do Credit Packs Work?
Credit packs are additional AI Credits that can be purchased separately to increase your available credit balance for a specific license key. Keep in mind that credit packs are tied to the license they were purchased for and cannot be transferred to another license.
When both plan credits and credit pack credits are available, Aggregator uses plan credits first. Once plan credits are used up, Aggregator will use any available credit pack credits.
Example: If you have 100 plan credits remaining and purchase a 250-credit pack, Aggregator will use the 100 plan credits first. Once those plan credits are used up, it will start using credits from the 250-credit pack.
Unlike plan credits, credit pack credits do not expire. Any remaining credit pack balance stays available as long as the license remains active. For more details, see Purchasing Additional AI Credits.
What Happens When AI Credits Run Out?
When your AI Credits run out, Aggregator follows the Credit Strategy selected for the source.
Depending on your source’s settings, Aggregator can either:
- Stop importing new items until AI credits are available again.
- Continue importing items without generating AI-powered output.
You can also purchase additional AI Credits, upgrade your plan, or wait until your next renewal for your plan credits to refresh.
How AI Credits Work on Renewal
When your license renews, your plan credits are refreshed to the full amount included with your plan and license type.
Unused plan credits from the previous period are forfeited and do not carry over.
If you have purchased credit packs, any remaining credit pack balance is not affected by renewal. Credit packs remain available separately from your renewed plan credits.
For multi-site licenses, credits need to be manually reallocated to sites after renewal. This lets you decide how the renewed credit balance should be distributed across the sites using that license.
Example: If you are on an Elite 5-site plan with 15,000 AI Credits and previously allocated 5,000 credits to Site A, 8,000 credits to Site B, and 2,000 credits to Site C, those allocations do not automatically carry over after renewal. When your license renews, your plan credit balance resets to 15,000 credits in total for the new period. You will need to manually allocate credits again to the sites using that license.
How AI Credits Work When Upgrading Plans
When you upgrade to a plan with a higher AI Credit balance, your available credits are adjusted based on the new plan.
You keep your unused credits, and your balance is topped up according to the upgraded plan. This means upgrading does not reset your balance or remove credits you have not used.
Example: If you are on a Pro 1-site plan with 500 AI Credits and have already used 200, you would have 300 credits remaining. If you then upgrade to an Elite 1-site plan, your pool is topped up to match the Elite plan balance. In this case, you would keep your remaining 300 credits and receive an additional 9,500 credits, giving you a total of 9,800 AI Credits, since you already used 200 AI credits.
