IN THIS ARTICLE
An introduction to AI Rewriting, including its key benefits, common use cases, how it works, and how it helps you rewrite imported post titles, content, and excerpts in Aggregator.
Contents

AI Rewriting helps you publish original articles based on existing content that your trusted sources have researched and produced for their own websites, all while keeping your publishing workflow inside Aggregator.

Why Rewrite Content?

There are a number of reasons you’ll want to rewrite the content you import rather than publishing it exactly as it is on the source’s website, including:

  • No duplicate content. By publishing rewritten versions of imported items rather than publishing the exact same wording from the original source, you’re avoiding any issues that come with duplication.
  • Reduce writing costs. Writers and AI content generation tools are costly, so let Aggregator rewrite already researched posts to bring the cost per article down from many Dollars to a fraction of a cent.
  • Turn source research into publishable content. Use the facts, reporting, and research from your sources as the basis for rewritten posts, in a voice that matches your audience.
  • Keep a consistent editorial voice across sources. Rewrite content from different sources using the same tone to create a consistent editorial voice across your site.
  • Support topic-specific publishing workflows. Apply different rewriting settings to different sources, so each topic, client, or content type can follow the right editorial approach.

Who Is Rewriting For?

AI Rewriting is great for a number of websites and businesses, including:

  • Niche news publishers, where you can import RSS content from industry sources and rewrite each post to match your site’s editorial voice before publishing.
  • Agencies managing client sites, so you can rewrite imported content in the client’s brand voicing curated source material that reads as original content for each site.
  • Authority or thought leadership sites to import industry, academic, or specialist content and rewrite it in plain language to help position the site owner as an expert commentator.
  • Topic-specific publishing sites to discovery articles about topics such as politics, world news, sports, technology, or finance, then rewrite them into a consistent format for your audience.
  • Multi-source content site, where applying different rewriting settings to different sources is key, so content from each source is rewritten in the way that best fits its topic or purpose.

How It Works

AI Rewriting is a setting that you enable manually per source. When it’s enabled, Aggregator rewrites the selected post fields as new items are imported. You can choose to rewrite the following fields:

  • Title: Rewrites the post title into something similar, but unique
  • Content: Rewrites the main body of the post, following your chosen tone and voice.
  • Excerpt: Rewrites the post excerpt independently from the content.

Each field consumes AI credits from your Plan’s total. The title and excerpt rewriting each cost 1 credit, while content rewriting uses credit bands based on the word count of each imported item, where every item is charged separately according to the band it falls into. For more details, see AI Rewriting Credit Calculator.

How to Enable AI Rewriting

AI Rewriting is currently available when importing as Posts or any Custom Post Type.

For example, you can use it with sources that import content into different custom post types created specifically for different publishing workflows, such as Politics, World News, Technology, Finance, and so on.

Note: AI Rewriting is currently not supported when the source imports content as Feed Items or when curation is enabled for the source.

To start using this feature, see Setting Up AI Rewriting for a Source.

Version Requirements

AI Rewriting requires Aggregator 5.2.0 or later.

  • If you are using Aggregator 5.0.x, update to the latest version to use AI Rewriting.
  • If you are still using Aggregator v4, you must first update to the latest version and complete the migration process before AI Rewriting becomes available.
