AI Rewriting can be enabled and configured individually for each source. This lets you control which sources use rewriting, which parts of the imported post are rewritten, and how rewriting should be applied.
To set up AI Rewriting, follow the steps below to locate and configure the settings:
- Go to
Aggregator→Sourcesin your WordPress dashboard. - Create a new source or edit an existing one where you want to enable AI Rewriting.
- Click on the
Advancedtab. - Click on
AI→AI Rewriting.

Once you open the AI Rewriting section, you will see the options that control what gets rewritten and how the rewritten content is generated.
Rewrite Imported Items
Enable AI Rewriting to allow Aggregator to rewrite selected parts of imported posts from this source.

When enabled:
- Rewriting is applied during import.
- AI Credits are used when rewritten content is generated.
- Rewritten content replaces the selected WordPress post fields.
- You can choose whether to rewrite the title, content, excerpt, or any combination of these.
Note: Content rewriting uses credit bands based on the word count of each imported item. Each item is charged separately according to the band it falls into. For more details, see AI Rewriting Credit Calculator.
Enabling AI Rewriting for the First Time
When enabling AI Rewriting for the first time, Aggregator shows a confirmation pop-up.

This gives you important information about AI processing, AI Credit usage, and the Terms & Conditions before the feature is enabled.
Click Agree and Enable to proceed, or Not Now if you do not want to enable AI Rewriting.
When you click Agree and Enable, Aggregator enables the main AI Features setting under Aggregator → Settings → General → AI Features.

You can disable this setting at any time, but doing so will stop all AI-powered features from working across all sources. Existing AI-generated content remains on your site.
AI Rewriting Options
Use the AI Rewriting options to choose which parts of the imported post should be rewritten and how Aggregator should rewrite them.
What to Rewrite

Choose which parts of the imported WordPress post Aggregator should rewrite.
You can enable:
- Title: Rewrites the post title.
- Content: Rewrites the main body of the post.
- Excerpt: Rewrites the post excerpt independently from the content.
You can enable one option or use them together, depending on what you want to rewrite for this source and what is needed for your post template.
For example, only enable Excerpt if your imported posts use excerpts on your site. If excerpts are not shown anywhere, rewriting them will still consume AI Credits without changing what visitors see.
Note: Aggregator sends selected fields to the connected AI service provider to determine whether they should be rewritten. In some cases, the original wording can be returned if the field should not be changed.
This can happen with titles that contain names, proper nouns, product names, or other wording that should stay the same. For example, a title such as WordPress 7.0 “Armstrong” could be returned unchanged because the name itself should not be rewritten.
The credit is still used because the AI service still processed the field and determined that the original wording was the best result.
Settings
Use the Settings section to control how the rewritten content should be generated.
Rewrite intensity

Choose how much the rewritten content should change from the original.
The available options are:
- Light: Makes smaller wording changes while keeping the rewritten version close to the original.
- Balanced: Applies a moderate rewrite. This is useful when you want clearer or refreshed wording without changing the structure too heavily.
- Heavy: Makes more substantial wording changes. Use this when you want the rewritten version to differ more from the original.
Tone & style

Choose the tone Aggregator should use when rewriting the selected post elements.
The available options are:
- Match original (use the source’s tone): Keeps the rewritten version close to the style of the source content.
- Neutral / journalistic: Uses a straightforward, news-style tone.
- Conversational: Uses a more natural, approachable tone.
- Professional / formal: Uses a more polished and formal writing style.
- Casual / friendly: Uses a lighter, more relaxed tone.
- SEO-optimized: Uses a search-focused writing style.
- Plain language: Uses simpler wording that is easier to read.
Protected words & phrases

Add terms that should remain unchanged in the rewritten content.
Aggregator will do its best to preserve these terms when rewriting the selected post elements. This helps keep important names, labels, product names, brands, and wording consistent with the original source.
Note: Protected words and phrases are case-sensitive. This means Aggregator treats uppercase and lowercase versions as different terms.
For example, if you add “Beginner” as a protected word, Aggregator will try to preserve “Beginner” exactly as written. The lowercase word “beginner” will not be protected unless you add it separately.
This is useful when a brand name or product name is also a common word, since it helps protect the brand name without preventing normal uses of the word from being rewritten.
Test Rewrite
Use the Test Rewrite section to preview how rewriting will work based on your current settings.

- Click
Generate Preview (uses AI credits)to create a sample rewrite for the current item. - Each preview uses AI Credits.
- The preview is for testing purposes only and does not affect imported content.
This allows you to test your settings before using AI Rewriting for actual imports.
Note: If you import the same item later, Aggregator generates the rewritten version again during import. That imported version will be different from the preview and will consume additional AI Credits.
Credit Strategy
The Credit Strategy setting determines what happens when your AI Credits are exhausted.

You can choose between:
- Stop importing new items: No new posts will be imported until credits are available.
- Import items without AI Rewriting: New posts are imported with their original content – no rewrites will be generated.
Choose the option that best fits your workflow, depending on whether rewriting is required for imported posts from this source or optional.
Note: To avoid imports being paused or posts being imported without rewriting, you can monitor your AI Credit usage and purchase additional AI Credits when needed.
Once configured, AI Rewriting is applied automatically during the import process for this source. You can update these settings at any time to change which post elements are rewritten or how rewriting is applied.
Recommended Author Setting
When you use AI Rewriting to publish rewritten posts as your own original content, we recommend crediting the posts to a user on your site.
To credit rewritten posts to a user on your site:
- Edit the source where AI Rewriting is enabled.
- Click on the
Advancedtab. - Click on
Metadata→Author. - Set Author to Credit a user on this site.
- Under Select existing user to credit, choose the user who should be credited for the rewritten posts.
- Save the source.

After this is set, posts imported from this source will be credited to the selected user instead of the original feed author.
