With Aggregator, you can create a visually appealing display with the Excerpt and Thumbnail layout. This layout is ideal for showcasing content with images and short descriptions.

Creating the Display

  • Navigate to the Aggregator section in your WordPress dashboard.
  • Go to Displays and either select an existing display or create a new one.
  • In the layout options, select Excerpt & Thumbnail.

Customize Your Layout

Once you’ve chosen the Excerpt & Thumbnail layout, you can adjust various settings to tailor the display to your needs:

Appearance Settings

  • Style: Choose between options like News or Magazine format.
  • Feed Settings: Adjust the number of items to display.
  • Item Settings: Add or remove bullets to match your site theme.

Image Settings

  • Configure image dimensions and alignment.
  • Choose whether to replace the thumbnail with an embed if it is available in the feed.

Content Settings

  • Title: Show or hide titles, and set the maximum length.
  • Excerpt: Adjust the length of the excerpt and choose whether to truncate excess text.
  • Author, Publish Date, Source: Toggle display settings for meta information like author, date, and source.
  • Add a Read more link that redirects the user to the original source.
  • Determine how links behave when a user interacts with them, such as opening in a new tab.

Additional Features

  • Audio Player: Enable or disable audio players if your content includes audio.
  • Pagination: Set pagination styles to control how users navigate through your content.

Final Steps

  • Preview Your Display: Use the live preview to see how your display looks on different devices (desktop, tablet, mobile).
  • Save or Embed: Once satisfied with the configuration, save your settings. Use the embed option to place the display on your site.
